Battle of the bulbs…

11 Dec

My neighbors are in a full-fledged battle of the bulbs and I have never been so tickled.  It started with neighbor A putting up their customary string or two of lights along with their blow up snowman.  This lasted a couple of days until neighbor B across the street broke out her decorations. She spent hours meticulously decorating her lawn as Neighbor A nervously paced back and forth in anticipation of the end result.  Once neighbor B had everything out in her lawn and finally lit it all up, it could have easily been confused as Santa’s workshop.  This obviously didn’t sit well with neighbor A as she proceeded to put up additional lights and decorations in her lawn in an attempt to out sparkle neighbor B.

Now it seems each and every day there is a new festive decoration in someones lawn.  I think they are even spying on each other  to make sure they turn on their lights at the same time.  It’s something straight out of a Christmas comedy.  Nothing like a little competition to spark the spirit.  Before long it will be like the Griswold’s and the electric company will be using auxiliary power.
